We build portable log cabins in Gardner and deliver them to Trinidad in one piece, down CO-69 and south on I-25. Trinidad sits at just over 6,000 feet on the Purgatoire River, thirteen miles north of the New Mexico line, with Fishers Peak standing over the south side of town. Can you deliver to remote land off CO-12 or the county roads west of Trinidad?
Often yes, but it is decided site by site. The Highway of Legends itself is a paved state highway; the question is your turnoff and everything after it. Grade, switchbacks, gate width, and soft ground after weather all matter. We scout the final approach before committing, and where a full-width cabin cannot make it, a narrower model or a different pad location sometimes can.
What rules apply to a cabin on rural Las Animas County land?
That depends on your parcel's zoning and the cabin's classification, and we will not pretend to give you the county's answer for them. Park model RVs, modulars, and skid cabins are treated differently.
