Portable cabins in Westcliffe
Portable log cabins in Westcliffe come from the far end of your own highway. CO-69 runs from Walsenburg past our shop in Gardner, over Promontory Divide, and up the Wet Mountain Valley straight into town, so a Westcliffe delivery never leaves the road we live on. Westcliffe is the Custer County seat, sitting at 7,888 feet between the Sangre de Cristos to the west and the Wet Mountains to the east, with Silver Cliff right next door. It is the kind of high valley our cabins were built for, mostly because we build them in one.
The valley between two ranges
The Wet Mountain Valley is ranch country with one of the best mountain fronts in Colorado: the Sangre de Cristo crest runs the whole western horizon. Land here tends to come in real acreage, much of it split into the 35-acre parcels Colorado's subdivision law made standard, and plenty of those parcels still have nothing on them but grass and a view. That is the gap we fill. A finished cabin turns a view parcel into a place you can spend the weekend, put family, or rent out, without asking a builder to spend a construction season at 7,900 feet.
Dark sky towns, and a cabin built for looking up
Westcliffe and Silver Cliff are certified International Dark Sky Communities, among the first in Colorado, and the night sky here is a legitimate reason people buy land in this valley. It is also why our Stargazer model, with its rooftop deck, gets mentioned in most Westcliffe conversations we have. A deck above the roofline in a dark sky valley is not a gimmick; it is the whole point of the parcel. Whichever model you pick, you are buying a front-row seat to a sky most of the country has lost.
One highway, no pass to fear
Delivery from Gardner is the simplest we offer: north on CO-69, over Promontory Divide at the south end of the valley, and into Westcliffe, all on one two-lane we drive constantly. No interstate, no white-knuckle pass. High-valley building still demands respect, so every cabin ships with spray foam insulation standard, and we build indoors, which means your walls never saw weather until they were finished walls. At this altitude that difference is not cosmetic. It is why the cabin stays tight through its first winter and its twentieth.
Park model, modular, or skid in Westcliffe?
Custer County makes its own calls on where a park model RV can sit versus a modular cabin on a foundation. Our Colorado park model guide explains the categories, and because this valley is home turf for us, we can help you take the right questions to the county in Westcliffe.

Westcliffe questions
Can you deliver a cabin to the Wet Mountain Valley in winter?
Often yes, with judgment. CO-69 is maintained year-round and the valley floor gets decent dry windows most winters. What we watch is your driveway and pad, because a wide load on a snowed or muddy approach helps nobody. If conditions argue for waiting, we store your finished cabin properly and deliver in the next good window.
Do I need a permit for a park model on land near Westcliffe?
Expect Custer County to have a say, yes. The requirements track how the cabin is classified, park model RV versus modular versus skid, and how you intend to use it. Rules change and we are not the county, so we do not quote them. We do help every buyer here get their questions in front of the land use office before ordering.
Is the Stargazer's rooftop deck practical at 7,900 feet?
It is the model we would pick for this valley ourselves. The deck is engineered as part of the structure, not bolted on, and the reason it exists is exactly what Westcliffe offers: certified dark skies and a mountain wall on the horizon. Snow sits on it like it sits on any deck, and you sweep it. The nights you use it are why you bought land here.
