Portable cabins in Pueblo
Portable log cabins delivered to Pueblo come down out of the Huerfano valley the same way everything we build does: finished, on a truck. Our shop is in Gardner, southwest of the city, and the run to Pueblo County is one of the most common deliveries we make. Pueblo sits at 4,690 feet where Fountain Creek meets the Arkansas River, which makes it the low, warm end of our delivery map. Buyers here are usually not putting a cabin in the city itself. They own land in Pueblo West, up the Beulah road, or south toward Rye, and they want a guest house, a rental, or a getaway that does not take two years to build.
Pueblo West, Beulah, Rye: where the cabins actually go
Pueblo County has an unusual amount of buildable rural land within half an hour of a real city. Pueblo West spreads across big lots seven miles west of town along US-50, at just over 5,000 feet. Beulah sits about 21 miles southwest on CO-78 in the foothills of the Wet Mountains, and Rye and Colorado City run south along I-25 toward the mountains. All of it is cabin country. We set guest cabins behind existing houses where the county allows it, weekend places on foothill acreage, and rental units for owners near Lake Pueblo State Park traffic.
The route: CO-69 to Walsenburg, then straight up I-25
Delivery from Gardner is a two-leg run. We come down CO-69 to Walsenburg, then north on I-25 into Pueblo County, under two hours all in. It is interstate most of the way, which is the easy kind of miles for a wide load. The part we plan carefully is the last mile: your gate, your driveway, the turn into the pad. We scout that before delivery day, and if the truck cannot make your site as-is, we tell you what has to change before the cabin ships.

Pueblo is high desert. The sun works harder here than the snow does, and a cabin that sits out through a Pueblo summer needs real insulation just to stay cool. Every cabin we build ships with spray foam insulation as standard, which does the same job against July heat that it does against a Gardner January. Building indoors at our shop also means your cabin was never rained on, baked, or wind-blasted mid-frame before it reached you.

Can you deliver a 13-foot-wide cabin to a lot in Pueblo West?
Usually, yes. Pueblo West was laid out with wide streets and big lots, which is friendly territory for an oversize load. The questions are your specific street, overhead lines, and the turn into your property, so we scout the route before scheduling. If a 13-foot model will not work on your lot, we will say so and talk through what will.
Do I need a permit to put a cabin on rural land in Pueblo County?
Plan on it. Pueblo County reviews what gets placed on a parcel, and the rules differ between a park model RV, a modular cabin on a foundation, and a skid cabin. We do not hand out legal answers, but we have helped buyers through county conversations before, and we will help you figure out what to ask and who to ask it.
I want a rental cabin near Lake Pueblo. Does that work?
It can. Owners near the lake and the river corridor buy cabins as short-term rentals because a finished unit shows up fast and looks like something people want to book. The county and any HOA rules on short-term rentals are on you to confirm, and we recommend confirming them before you order, not after. We will build to what renters expect: real wood, real porch.
