FatBoy Siding
4x8, 4x10, 4x12
Our deepest profile, in smooth or hand-hewn texture, finished or unfinished. The closest look to full log construction.
Cabins Plus stocks log siding at our yard in Gardner, Colorado in three profiles: FatBoy, half log, and Adirondack. Each one gives a frame building the look of log construction without the cost and maintenance of full logs, and each is the same siding we hang on our own portable cabins. We also carry the pieces that make a siding job look finished: corner posts, butt-and-pass and dovetail corners, and electrical blocks. Call and we will help you pick a profile and figure quantities.
4x8, 4x10, 4x12
Our deepest profile, in smooth or hand-hewn texture, finished or unfinished. The closest look to full log construction.
2x6, 2x8, 3x6, 3x8, 3x10
Smooth or hand-hewn, in two-inch and three-inch profiles across five sizes. The workhorse log siding for cabins and additions.
1x10, 2x10
Wide-board rustic siding in smooth, rough-sawn, or hand-hewn texture. Also used with chink-style paint lines for a traditional look.
FatBoy and half log
Matched corner posts for both FatBoy and half log profiles, so outside corners read as solid log.
Matched to siding profile
Traditional corner systems that carry the log look around the corner the way a stacked-log building would.
Round, rectangle, square, custom
Mounting blocks for lights, outlets, and fixtures so hardware sits flat against a rounded siding profile.
The main difference is depth and scale. FatBoy is the fullest profile we carry, in four-inch nominal thickness up to 4x12, and from the driveway it reads closest to real stacked logs. Half log runs in two-inch and three-inch profiles across five sizes, which makes it the flexible middle option for cabins, garages, and additions. Adirondack is a wide board at 1x10 or 2x10 with a flatter, more rustic character, and it takes rough-sawn texture and chink-style paint treatments well. Texture matters as much as profile: smooth and hand-hewn are available across the line, and Adirondack adds rough-sawn.
Siding jobs get judged at the corners. We stock corner posts matched to both FatBoy and half log profiles, plus butt-and-pass and dovetail corner systems for a stacked-log appearance. Electrical blocks in round, rectangle, square, or custom shapes give your lights, outlets, and hose bibs a flat mounting surface instead of sitting crooked against a curved board. Ordering these with your siding, rather than improvising later, is the difference between a job that looks factory and one that looks patched.
We do not sell siding through a cart. Call us with your wall dimensions, or just the building footprint and height, and we will help you land on a profile, texture, and board count, corners and blocks included. Contractors and owner-builders both order this way. Material is picked up at our yard in Gardner, and delivery is something we can discuss on the phone based on your location and load size.
Depth. FatBoy is a four-inch nominal profile in 4x8, 4x10, and 4x12, the fullest log look we sell, and it comes finished or unfinished. Half log runs thinner, in two-inch and three-inch profiles from 2x6 up to 3x10. Both come in smooth or hand-hewn texture, so the choice is mostly about how bold you want the wall to read.
Pickup is at our yard in Gardner, Colorado, and delivery may be an option depending on your location and order size. We do not have a flat shipping program, so the honest answer is to call us with where you are and what you need and we will sort out how to get it there.
FatBoy and half log come smooth or hand-hewn. Adirondack comes smooth, rough-sawn, or hand-hewn. FatBoy is also available finished or unfinished. Texture changes the character of a wall more than most people expect, so look at samples in person before committing to a full order.
You have three options: corner posts matched to FatBoy or half log profiles, butt-and-pass corners, or dovetail corners. Posts are the simplest to install, while butt-and-pass and dovetail mimic how a real stacked-log building turns a corner. We will help you pick when you order, since the right choice depends on profile and the look you are after.
Square footage, the look you're after, and where it's going. We'll talk profiles and get you a number.
